That, and thank you for letting me use Vivi to race even if he was called Black Magician for some reason. You might not have been my first racing game but you’ll definitely always be first place in this young racer’s heart with all the amazing art. Thank you for showing me that even though the first is special in itself, there’s always happiness in trying something new out. I never thought I’d love a racing game as much as Crash Team Racing. A lot of people, particularly my younger brother, never understood why I loved playing you so much but leading a team of 3 Digimon against an army that wanted to destroy the world always appealed to me. Thank you for teaching the value of teamwork. Do that well enough and with a little luck, winning and everyone else comes after. Thank you for teaching me that life isn’t all about stats but how you put them to use on the actual race track.

Sure, you didn’t have the speed of Tiny Tiger (my younger brother’s favorite character) I always had a natural inclination towards cute things and it helped you were for beginners. I’d like to give a special shout out to my favorite character, Pura, for always being a kickass racer. Thank you for being my very first racing game. So, here we go and in no particular order. While everyone (most especially my younger brother) is celebrating the graphics and playroom of its youngest brother, the PS4, I just wanted to take a moment to thank nine amazing PlayStation games I grew up with for all the good times and the lessons they taught me. Thought to share this story publicly because while there’s only one way to win in or finish all these games, everyone’s experience playing is always unique and special. *Quick detour: Drawing from a personal experience, posting this photo a few months back just shows how many people fell in love with this console. How often have you seen 9GAG or Buzzfeed posts about games you grew up with with the caption ‘MY CHILDHOOD’? and you can actually relate? The very reason you’re probably reading on is because you want a trip down memory lane. Words like ‘controller’, ‘memory card’, and ‘save file’ suddenly became common words, and up until now, the idea that triangle is up, X is down (and usually jump), square is on the left and circle is on the right is still saved in most people’s minds like an auto-save feature. How far did it go in changing a generation? It changed vocabularies. In December 3, 1994, the famous gaming console that changed everything for the 90’s generation was sold in Japan, and soon after nearly all over the world.
